Venue Inquiries

Art Walk Easthampton has grown into the largest recurring arts and culture event in the city and it continues to expand. Here's what you need to know if you are interested in becoming a participating venue:

  • There are no fees to participate. However, there may be a $20 charge to produce an Art Walk banner for your location.
  • Each venue agrees to be open from 5-8 PM on the "Second Saturdays" of each month during the Art Walk. Any exceptions must be approved in advance by Art Walk organizers. A list of upcoming Art Walk dates is shown on the right side of your screen.
  • All locations agree to display the Art Walk Easthampton banner during the Art Walk. Single site locations typically display the banner on the exterior. Venues within larger, multi-tenant buildings display a banner on the exterior and an additional banner on the inside so that it is readily visible to guests entering the building.
  • Each venue agrees to select the visual artist, musician/band or performance artist/group to be featured in its space. Art Walk Easthampton does not curate or book shows. Venues have access to a large number of Artist Proposals from talent interested in showing their work or performing during an Art Walk. The Artist Proposals are a resource and not intended to be the sole source of talent.
  • Each venue is encouraged, but not required, to hold a public reception in conjunction with the Art Walk. Responsibilities for the reception may be shared with the selected artist/musician/performer.
  • Each venue agrees to post a description of its event on the Art Walk website. This is required each and every month of participation. Art Walk Easthampton encourages early posting of descriptions so the information can be included in publicity materials.
  • Each venue agrees to promote Art Walk Easthampton by letting customers know of the location's participation. This includes listing the Art Walk on your website, in newsletters (email and printed) and in your other routine customer communications. The responsibility for turnout is a shared one with each venue helping spread the word, producing a larger overall turnout.
  • Each venue agrees to provide reasonable and ordinary care for displayed art, similar to the care you would exercise on any other valuable items in your inventory. Art Walk Easthampton encourages you to have artists sign a form indicating they understand there is no additional insurance on their pieces and that it is possible items may inadvertently incur damage or loss. Art Walk Easthampton assumes no responsibility for damage or theft.
  • Each venue agrees to discuss any commission structure with the visual artist at the time of booking. Art Walk Easthampton takes no commission and is not involved in any commission discussion between artist and venue.
  • Each venue agrees to have something "new" for guests to see upon their next visit to your location. By showing pieces that guests have not seen before, you encourage lingering and increase visitors' recollection about your store and its products or services. Please do not simply repeatedly show your existing sales inventory. Locations that do so will be dropped.
  • You may choose to formalize the arrangement with the artist(s) by using an Exhibition Agreement or Performance Agreement. You can view, print out and customize the sample agreements below.
View an example of the Exhibition Agreement here.
