Artist: Ronald Parent |
Medium: Pastels |
|
Venue:
Elusie Gallery |
Address: 43 Main St. |
Event: 'By the Sea' recent work in pastel and oil by Ronald Parent, who says of his work: 'I’m particularly drawn to landscapes and seashore environs. The subtle changes in atmosphere in any given season during the times of the day afford me the opportunity to achieve a specific mood or effect in my work. I am fascinated with fog and early morning light – stemming from my fondness of the Impressionist and Expressionist movements in Europe and in the United States. Images fade into the mist and I try to capture that experience in my painting' |

Medium: Painting - Oil |
|
Venue:
Easthampton City Arts |
Address: 43 Main St. |
Event: Conversations: An Exhibit of New Paintings
'These paintings are similar to dreams in that, they come mostly from the unconscious, and can be interpreted many ways. The one thread I have discovered is they all seem to be about people having a conversation either with themselves, another person in the picture, or another person out of the picture frame. They could be about being ultimately alone - or not. I’d be interested to hear different peoples’ reactions to the work.'

Artist: Liz McDonald |
Medium: Painting - Watercolor |
|
Venue:
Mt.Tom's Homemade Ice Cream |
Address: 34 Cottage St |
Event: In the past 6 years, I have experienced the joy, wonder, frustration and pride of learning to create a watercolor composition. In my lifetime, I have experienced many moments in time that enriched my life and remained in my memory.
Happily, the two experiences have merged. By using what I learned about the principles and techniques of watercolor, I have strived to put my favorite moments in time on paper. From my attempts to coax the watercolors into composition, shape, value and texture, I believe I have been able to turn memories into concrete images.
In putting my artwork on display, I hope that my viewers will pause long enough to recall their own moments in time or create new ones.

Event: Showing in Country Accents by NJB
For me, the best thing about creating artful pieces of jewelry is two-fold: one is the personal satisfaction I feel when creating something out of raw materials, using my own hands and imagination; the other is watching someone pick up a piece I’ve made and compliment me by asking how it was made and listening to the story behind it - oh, there's always a story |

Artist: Riverside Arts |
Medium: Painting |
|
Venue:
Marketplace at Eastworks |
Address: 116 Pleasant Street, 1st Floor |
Event: A group exhibit at Eastworks.
Riverside Arts is now in it’s third year as a pioneering program providing adults with developmental disabilities an opportunity to explore their creative potential. Over one hundred individuals have participated in the workshops, some briefly and some over the entire twenty month period.
We believe that every individual has the potential to flourish through the creative process.
We encourage each of our artists to follow their natural inclinations and find their own artistic voice. The resulting artwork is pure expression, a window to the heart. The depth and joyfulness of this work is a tribute to the character of our artists.
We thank our hosts at Eastworks for giving us this opportunity to share our work. |
