The shores of New England and New Jersey, and the rocks, trees and mountains of New York are the starting points for my drawings and paintings. I grew up around Albany and the the Dutch influence is still strong there, and it serves as the basis for my painting tradition. Washington Irving and the painters of the early 1800s captured the wildness still lurking under a region that was getting civilized even then. My paintings combine the timeless elements of the landscape with the civilizers of our own age.

Magical Moments
Ed Popielarczyk is a professional magician, balloon twister, entertainer. Ed takes a lot of pride in bringing smiles to his friend's faces. Whether he is performing a magic show or making a balloon creation, he is entertaining. The magic in what he does is not making a big duck riding a motorcycle out of balloons or fooling someone during a magic show, but the laughter that it brings. That is the TRUE MAGIC!!

FANCY FREE JEWELRY DESIGN

I can't help it. Creative juice runs through me. I love to create! Among my original works of art are: written works (news articles, poetry, short stories, children's stories), glass murals, wall murals, acrylic paintings, watercolor paintings, collage art, tile paintings, storybooks and JEWELRY – my favorite wearable art.

At this Art Walk (directly following the Spring Festival), along with my ever-popular gemstone and sterling silver creations, I'll have a new fine silver collection available. The pendant you see in this photo is my first fine silver creation - please come see my work in this exciting medium.

My fine silver designs are created using precious metal clay (PMC). Tiny particles of pure silver have been salvaged from photographic film and mixed with a moist organic binder to create a material that has the feel and working properties of modeling clay. Using a variety of tools, objects are given shape and texture. The objects are then heated to temperatures approaching the melting point of the metal, where the organic binder burns away and the particles of pure silver fuse together, thus leaving a dense, fully metallic object.
