This Saturday's Art Walk Easthampton showcases works from near and far and announces a new shuttle bus that will make it easier to get around.
Join us on Saturday, May 10th from 5-8 PM for a jazz performance and art show from the students of Easthampton High School, enjoy fresh works from regional plein air painters who have been in town the last few days creating images of Easthampton, and explore the fascinating culture of Tibet in a visual, music and dance celebration. These are just a few of the fun, free events happening every place you see the yellow Art Walk banner. Holyoke Community College is providing a free shuttle bus that will be stopping at Eastworks, Blue Guitar Gallery, Old Town Hall and on Cottage Street every half hour from 5-7 PM. The shores of New England and New Jersey, and the rocks, trees and mountains of New York are the starting points for my drawings and paintings. I grew up around Albany and the the Dutch influence is still strong there, and it serves as the basis for my painting tradition. Washington Irving and the painters of the early 1800s captured the wildness still lurking under a region that was getting civilized even then. My paintings combine the timeless elements of the landscape with the civilizers of our own age.
Located in the Connecticut River valley, Easthampton offers scenic beauty, architectural interest and a lively arts community. Come join in the first annual 'Paint Out,' a 48-hour outdoor event that culminates in a gallery show and judging at Nashawannuck Gallery with the unveiling during the Art Walk. All of the works will be of Easthampton scenery and created within the previous 48 hours!
A grand prize winner and people's choice winner will be announced during the Art Walk at 7:30 PM. Be sure to drop in to vote for your favorite work!
This event is sponsored by Easthampton Savings Bank, Nashawannuck Gallery and the Art Walk.
Magical Moments
Ed Popielarczyk is a professional magician, balloon twister, entertainer. Ed takes a lot of pride in bringing smiles to his friend's faces. Whether he is performing a magic show or making a balloon creation, he is entertaining. The magic in what he does is not making a big duck riding a motorcycle out of balloons or fooling someone during a magic show, but the laughter that it brings. That is the TRUE MAGIC!!

I'm Hannah Jones, usually going under the pen name Hinote. My age is fourteen, and I've been drawing seriously for a few years now. I work primarily in dry medias, and in digital art. This will be my first public display.
Over fifty artists from the groundbreaking art program at Riverside Industries show their lively mixed media works. This art is straight from the heart, and speaks of the innate impulse to make art which we all share.
Riverside Arts welcomes community involvement, and we look forward to meeting you and sharing this inspiring work with you. Please stop by to check us out!

Projection begins at 8:30pm at OLD TOWN HALL 43 Main St. The steps of Old Town Hall provide the entrance and exit, a transitional space that marks a before and an after an event occurs or a purpose is realized. Steps are a portal to community, to acceptance, to futures, to legal processes that effect identity and a sense of citizenship. The architecture of a building reflects and responds to the communities that inhabit it. Contact: Maggie Nowinski 413 539 7894 maggienowinski@gmail.com

I can't help it. Creative juice runs through me. I love to create! Among my original works of art are: written works (news articles, poetry, short stories, children's stories), glass murals, wall murals, acrylic paintings, watercolor paintings, collage art, tile paintings, storybooks and JEWELRY – my favorite wearable art.
At this Art Walk (directly following the Spring Festival), along with my ever-popular gemstone and sterling silver creations, I'll have a new fine silver collection available. The pendant you see in this photo is my first fine silver creation - please come see my work in this exciting medium.
My fine silver designs are created using precious metal clay (PMC). Tiny particles of pure silver have been salvaged from photographic film and mixed with a moist organic binder to create a material that has the feel and working properties of modeling clay. Using a variety of tools, objects are given shape and texture. The objects are then heated to temperatures approaching the melting point of the metal, where the organic binder burns away and the particles of pure silver fuse together, thus leaving a dense, fully metallic object.
Every piece unique. Made from high quality beads, each piece is designed to make it's own impact. Come see my booth and find the piece that is uniquely you.
